About VSA
The Verified Shortlet Agency (VSA) helps guests tell a genuine shortlet agent from a fake one before money changes hands.
Most shortlet bookings happen through agents on Instagram and WhatsApp, which makes it easy for anyone to copy photos of an apartment and collect a deposit. VSA keeps a public list of agents and agencies whose identity we have checked. Each verified agent gets a VSA number and a profile on this website, so a guest can look them up in seconds.
What we check
- A government-issued ID that matches the name on the profile
- A clear photo of the agent
- For agencies, the CAC registration of the business
- The phone numbers the agent uses with guests
What we do not do
VSA does not list apartments, take bookings or hold payments. Verification confirms who an agent is. Guests should still inspect or ask for a video tour, and pay only into an account in the agent’s verified name.
